The military in Ethiopia is considered to be the second largest military force in Africa.
This is due to its large population and independence from colonization. The country has developed a drone program that is similar to the one in the United States. It has also involved itself in various peacekeeping efforts in war-torn countries in the international community that has helped it to horn its skills. Its army is made up of 150,000 military personnel, and 3000 Air force men in the Airforce.

It has 300 tanks, and 147 military aircraft, and 68 helicopters.

It is ranked number 6 in Africa, and 46th in the world. The country acquires most of its equipment from the United States because of the countries proximity in the world. It has 12 rocket propellars, 186 tanks, 78 helicopters, and 148 military aircrafts.

In Africa the powers in the military are like the following:

    1. Egypt
    2. Ethiopia
    3. South Africa
    4. Nigeria
    5. Algeria
    6. Kenya
    7. Libya

Libya has been listed there because of the war after Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown. So, its military power was reduced to that of Kenya.
